Recently a scientific study was undertaken to investigate the phlorotannin, Eckol, in Kelpak. Compared to the control and a pure Eckol application, Kelpak applied at a 0.6 % solution showed a significantly improved rate of pollen tube growth, essential for proper fruit set.

Significant results on pollen tube growth

Scientists and growers globally recognise that Kelpak consistently enhances beneficial responses in plants. These include improved root and shoot growth, higher yields and increased tolerance to stress. Recent studies demonstrate that Kelpak also significantly increases pollen germination and pollen tube growth that subsequently improves plant fertilization and fruit set.

Excellent results on avos

Nursery trials conducted in Chile and Mexico showed improved young tree growth with Kelpak application. Field trials in Chile using Kelpak on bearing trees showed yield improvement on both poor and strong flowering avocado trees, when compared to the control. The comparison indicated improved fruit set and retention, better fruit shape, and ultimately higher yields.
